Chamber Cellos Courses and Workshops are designed for a small group of amateur players to satisfy their passion for playing. The residential courses also take into account their need for a luxurious rural break.
The courses aim to explore the art of ensemble playing, overcome technical difficulties, and build confidence. Putting together a programme for performance in a short space of time can be challenging and hugely rewarding.
Above all the courses are about the joy of playing. Course tutor: Kim Mackrell
Kim is an experienced player and teacher. After working abroad she joined the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester. Returning to London after eight years, she toured with the Kosh Dance/Theatre Company as solo cellist. She has been a member of Harmonie Band, a contemporary group working with silent film, for 20 years, and cellist with the Solarek Piano Trio for twelve years. She now performs with Roy Stratford as a piano/cello duo, works regularly as a freelance player with the LSO, and runs the Pisces String Quartet. She has taught for many years, focusing more recently on adult learning, the outcome of which is Chamber Cellos.
